Singles Competition 2026

The summer sunshine certainly made its presence felt as 12 members gathered at Tregony Pétanque Club on Saturday 21st June to contest the Club Singles Championship.

With temperatures climbing steadily throughout the day, the afternoon rounds proved particularly demanding, testing both concentration and stamina as much as pétanque ability. Despite the challenging conditions, the competition was played in an excellent spirit, with a number of closely fought matches and some impressive shooting and pointing on display.

At the end of five rounds, Pete Tombs emerged as a deserved champion, producing a flawless performance by winning all five of his matches to take the title.

The battle for the remaining podium places was much closer, with Kay Kingsley-Heath narrowly edging out Vicki Howard to secure second place after an exciting day's competition.

Congratulations to Pete, Kay and Vicki, and thank you to everyone who took part and helped make it another enjoyable day of pétanque at Tregony.
