Another enjoyable day was had at Tregony Pétanque Club as members gathered for the Golden Boule Competition, held to celebrate the official opening of the pistes in 2024.
 

Despite extremely hot conditions, players turned out in good numbers and embraced the challenge. Three timed rounds were played during the morning, followed by a fourth round after a superb BBQ lunch. Regular hydration breaks were very welcome and helped everyone cope with the summer temperatures.
 

After a series of closely contested matches, the final standings were:

1st – Nicky and Pete Tombs – 3 wins, +12 points
2nd – Tina and Dave Saunders – 3 wins, +3 points
3rd – Gaynor and Phil Boyden – 2 wins, +12 points
 

A sincere thank you to Vicki and Nicky for organising the event, to Phil and his BBQ team for providing an excellent lunch, and to everyone who took part and helped make the day such a success.
